Anastasia K. Stoyanova (or simply, Sia) is a storyteller and poet based in Berlin. Academically trained as an economist, she adopts the ways of art in all her practices – from her day job as a product owner through the turbulences of a woman existing in a society in crisis. Her work is driven by an ever-evolving flux of influences – born in Bulgaria, raised in Greece and trained in Scotland and Germany, she explores knowledge from the material through to the metaphysical in an effort to grasp totality. The crux of it seems to lie in the distribution of powers.
An existentialist at heart, she is currently investigating topics of freedom, feminism, shifting temporalities and the psychic realms. Her approach and process mirror her deeply rooted sentimentalism, as well as her dedication to practices integrating mind, body and the senses into a singular, fluid entity.
